To get back to the OP's original intent...for me it comes down to perspective and expectation. If I am trolling the web looking for specific tricks I am trying to perfect then honestly the production quality means little to me. When I am in this mode I am skipping through a lot of the video or rewinding the same trick over and over to see how it is pulled off.
If I am watching an F One video then I am expecting some pretty good content and production value and for the most part F One videos deliver on this. Cabrinha does an equally good job as well as Naish too.
If I am watching random videos from "Joe Kiter" then my expectation is pretty low. This is where I know I am gonna' have basic production value and my expectations are not high. But then again I am a "glass is half full" kinda person. I try to find something of value in every video. I've even found value in ancient videos shot in 240p that looked so freakin' grainy the kiter looked like he was a chemical burn victim. Back to my original statement. It comes down to perspective and expectation. Find your balance between the two and you can enjoy a lot more of the "same old kiting movies."

IMO, what is at the moment really missing, both in kitesurfing and in windsurfing, it's a "film" about the sport. I explain myself: a film that try to explain to non-kiters/wsfers what kiting or windsurfing means, why sometimes we suffer cold, pain, we spend lot of money, we drive thousand miles and so on. A film that explains it's not always sunny, hot, beautiful. That it's not only blond-haired chicks living in dream spots enjoying fantastic kiting sessions.
Maybe the film could show someone driving but not after a cup of coffee but rushing from his office to the closer spot, and the closer spot is not Maui or the Carribeans but a stupid cold lake. Also the someone I'm speaking about is not a champion, he's an average joe trying to learn to jump better and higher and all this only for passion.
In a word, a film not about kiting but about the passion of kiting.

Nope, you've got it all wrong Bill! Even that video - I didn't like it! Felt asleep not even half way through... it's these same, boring monkeys spinning in the "Hey look at me!!! I'm taking a dump!!!!" position again! can't help it and neither I seem to understand how these punks are "moving the sport forward"!

i agree. kite vids are boring as hell. they usually only focus on one style. usually wakestyle or strapless surfing.
Both are as boring as batshit to watch after 2 mins.
I want to see vids that have variation of riding.
