More Nightmare stories on bladders .
Sure Glad i've owned OZONE,from the first LEI's i purchased to now ; i
never had to replace a bladder, (EVER) !!

Tank-You OZONE !!!!!!!!

Only problem i Ever had was sand in a valve, (once).

Your gonna Laugh on this one :
A girl tried helping me ; she deflated all my struts & main bladder, by
placing the plastic thingie into all the valves ...

THEN
she turned the kite upside-down in the sand, ((so the air would run out Faster)) !!! :desperado:

YEA ------------"girls" ----- ; I still Love-em though !!

Before one-pumps hit the market there was 1 LEI in 10 used for winter riding here. Then came one-pumps and almost overnight it became 9 LEI in 10. More and more guys began to use their water kites on the snow.

I'm in the camp of no one pumps. What would be nice is the option for people that don't like them to be able to buy kites with out them. I had 4 one pump failures last year. Yeah they were easy for me to fix but not fun walking in with all that mess (my local spot is shallow so don't have to swim).

Kitesurf Vacation wrote:...They should do it as in the beginning of kitesurfing, the struts separated from the leading edge. Is not a big deal to pump one strut by one. Keep the kites simple!!

Why they still do it like that? marketing campains? Any other reason apart from pumping it 'faster'?

Jaime

You're wrong.
Pumping struts sux.
Repairing bladders is the exception rather than the norm and if you know how to do it, it isn't any harder with a good one pump system.

That is an absurd idea. You want manufacturers to run parallel assembly lines, develop and test parallel models, and importers, distributors and retailers to manage multiple lines of stock just because you had a little bad luck?

I have over 100 hours each on my current 3 kites and about 800 hours on one pump LEI. The oldest single kite had 200+ hours. No punctures. No failures. No problems.

I started kiting in 1999. I have pumped struts. Pumping struts sucks.

Although I may not be as passionate as the two camps here, I'd have to agree one pump systems done right are not a problem. The only time I has to fix a bladder on a one pump was when I landed the kite on the local life saving roof ( don't worry not a soul on the beach or around the carpark. ) the bladder hole was cause by a leading edge tear not a failure of the one pump.

I had a wainmen smoke for a while and I must admit every time I got out the car I thought fuck here we go. It doesn't take that much longer, but it is still a psychological pain in the ass.

Agreed. Started kiting in 2001 and my kites get a lot of use. Pumping struts suck. Have owned almost every brand. Never a problem with a one pump system on any kite or changing a LE or strut bladder.
