La Ventana

Postby dt73775 » Tue Feb 05, 2013 8:25 pm

Headed to La Ventana in a couple of weeks to try and get some rides in , but wind guru keeps saying wind isnt picking up or its just blowing in the low teens. You know how these things work. Has anyone gone out to Baja erecently and was it good?

Couple of weeks is too far out to tell

If u r looking at North wind predictions. All good.

I look at ikitesurf readings and usually measures a little low. A 11 to 16 N is a 12m powered up

I've kited from 7 to 12m, if its northerly u will get wind

Max

Ps. Checked today forecast, predict 9 but N, actual already blowing past 20. A 9 m day

Now I'm in CA and a low moving in so LV will loose N winds for a few days but look at forecast for Sun Mon Tue, 7m days for sure. Maybe I ll jump on a plane Sat.

Just came back last Tuesday (29th). I kited 8 out of 10 days, mostly on my 10.5, but I could have been on the 9m if I had brought it.

I spent 7 weeks in Baja. The wind in La Ventana was the worst of the last 4yrs. It was kiteable a lot, but not overly strong and not as consistent as it has been previous 3yrs.

Having said that my info is from Dec/Jan so it's anyone's guess what happens in Feb.

i found a webcam at Baja Joes and checking it there, but I agree the wind doesnt seem too great. Hopefully it will kick in by then.....
