FL Keys April conditions?

Postby pbbb3 » Sat Feb 16, 2013 1:33 am

What would be a reliable setup for me during a mid- April visit to the keys? I'm ~190#
My choices are: Kite----> 8m, 15m, 18m LEI, 10m foil
Board------> 131, 149, 171 all TT's, 5'9" directional

Any help appreciated

You could pretty much live here and kite 99% of windy days with an 18m and 10m

Our best months are usually now thru April with predominate winds out of the east. It almost always blows higher than forecasted. Today we are waiting for 25-30 knots expected this afternoon thru tomorrow. Wind can be light to moderate in the spring and rarely exceeds 30 knots. I ride my 10m 90% of the time.

If only 1 kite? Bring the 10m and 2 boards.
Choice? 8, 10 and 15m and the 131 and 149 for lighter days.

Any questions on lodging or anything at all, don't hesitate to call.

P.S. - for no wind days, check out the cable park at mm 59.

Ok soooooo this is conflicting advice. Someone says 10 and someone else 18? Should I split the difference?
