So I have been having a lot of great times since I was with Morph. I now run a school on Vancouver Island and have been kiting up a Storm. I spent last winter down in Western Australia chasing the wind and huge waves down there. I kited over 100 days last year and finished the year with some amazing session in Maui! I started a new Mexican adventure in the Baja this year. 3 weeks into my trip in La Ventana I had a little accident... well a little accident with big consequences I was helping some students out with some downloops and jumping. When the lesson was finished we all went for a ride together. It was blowing about 23-25 kn and I was on my 8m. I went for a kiteloop railie and came down pretty hot. My front foot popped out of my binding and the board caught the water. I kept going and my leg got tweaked pretty good. I knew right away that I broke it. There was no pain, but it did not feel right... Oh and it was flopping around like a wet noodle. I was riding a suicide leash and luckily the kite just sat at 3 O clock slowly pulling my back to shore from behind where my leash was attached. When I got to shore someone landed my kite... then I had to come in through the shorebreak :S It was surely the most painful thing I have ever experienced having my shattered leg thrown around like a red headed foster child in the waves. Help was there very soon they pulled me up out of the waves. Being in a small fishing village it was 2 hours before I got to the hospital and got any pain killers :S
I have crashed much harder more than 100 times. This was just a freak accident that you can't do much about I will be back on the water in 6 months or less and stoked to come check out the Yucatan again!
