Alright guys, so here's the story:
Two years ago, I moved to Boston for university from a really hot place where I lived close to the beach and where I fell in love with kitesurfing. The problem is I hate it here. It's cold, I'm away from the beach, and there's no way for me to kitesurf in freezing waters.
This is where you guys come in.
I'm trying to find a city with a decent university that is also somewhere on a coast with decent kite conditions and warm weather.
THIS CAN BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD (except the US, I don't feel comfortable in this country)
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks,
-

Penghu, Taiwan.
We have a national university named "National Penghu University of Science and Technology"
Its website:
http://english.npu.edu.tw/
Here comes the interesting part: it is located at the windiest place in Asia. Wind blows 20-40 knots constantly from Oct. to May.
here is some kitesurfing pictures from Penghu.

There are hundreds of places you could choose including some of the world's best kite destinations.
Perth does as does every other major city in Australia. All are hot and reasonably good for kiting but obviously Perth stands out.
Cape Town has one too.

Fortaleza, Brazil
The best wind for 8 months more or less daily, and the other 4 months 50%.
30 C all year, plus minus 2 degrees.
Great nightlife.
And THE country of the future...just 30 min further north a huge industry gets build, lots of jobs for skilled workers, which are desperately needed.

Really you dont feel comfortable in the US? Whys that? Not bashing but curious as i dont really feel comfortable in any other country. Living there at least visiting doesnt bother me. Mind you the only other country i have vacationed in is mexico. Every other country ive been to ive deployed to in a combat zone. I am born and raised in the US and very comfortable here. Im getting married soon and we want to do more traveling outside the country though so hopefully i can broaden my horizons.

Australia was one place I was looking into.
There's something about American culture that throws me off. I do have friends here but I don't feel like I fit in the general college life here in the States.
The country is beautiful, but it's the cold weather and the people that I'm not comfortable with.
Taiwan looks pretty interesting, gotta look more into that.
The problem with SF and Hawaii is that it's way too far from home. (Lebanon/UAE) Also going to study in the middle east is not really an option for me. I grew up there and now I'm looking for something different. (Hence why I'm in Boston right now).
I'm also taking Portuguese classes now and will be going to Brazil for a month in May (sadly not on the coast). This country and language fascinates me so much, and as you said Toby, it is THE country of the future.
Thanks for the replies guys

+1 for Fortaleza/Brazil mate.
You better come up to Fortaleza while you are in the country or you will regret it later on. Promise!
Cheers
