Someone gave me a Naish AR5, (9,5M and 5.5M).
They look Brand-new, except the valves were all left open so they
got desert dust in them.
Is this 9.5M worth giving a Try ? -------- or is it patch material
for another kite that needs sewing ??

When I got my AR5's I thought I'd died and gone to kite heaven! After learning on a Naish AR 3.5 9m with 2 lines, these were the bomb!!! Give it a go and report back!

Wow...a classic.
Does it also come with the original bar? While very cool it would probably be wise to ride it with a bar that has a bit more safety build in

In our store, back in the day - with an AHD 185 twin tip. When Pete Cabrinha, Flash Austin and Lou Waiman were Naish team riders

My first four line kite in 2000. Had a 11.5 and 9.5 m, got lofted into a house by the 9.5. Everything became a lot easier with them over older two line LEI and foils. Thing is there is very little depower with them. Wind goes too high, you may well go up with it. This was a big change from older designs at the time and our accidents increased with them. I would keep them as collectors items.
Great shot Brian, everything looks so new! The board looks familiar but I can't place it, what was it called?

A proper kite - I had a 11.5 & 7.5. After the AR3.5, this was a beast - I loved these kites and for me nothing else since has matched the huge advancement.
Brian, that picture made me smile, I had one of those AHD's - but snapped it jumping after three sessions !
PS Brian, how's it going setting up the Robben Island Enduro - I would love to come back & better my '02 7th place !!

... I taught my son on a 5.5m. Only every used in anger (as intended wind ranges) once in a cyclone and the damn thing nearly killed ! Bastard of a thing.
Interestingly, the valves and bladders lasted longer than all other kites I ended up aquiring over the years.
