Not sure thats nothing! if they are truly in their first few months, that suck chalk. I'd be pissed too. Wouldn't keep me off the water, wouldn't post it up on here before exhausting all options.... probably still wouldn't but there is no doubt it sucks chalk. Then again. I woulda got a proper pair of boots. Those things make me chuckle.

i wouldn't even try to exhaust any of those options. i'd post it right away.

one thing is calling your 200$ product bombproof quality product actually making it as such, or totally different approach is to hire marketing people and otherwise affiliated forum posters and bombproofing the product by talking, writing and posting.

first way is to make 120$ worth really quality product and get 80 bucks profit, and guess what, as the bonus we don't have to read pimping posts here on kf! second way is to make 20$ worth product, pay 100$ to pimps and get the same 80 bucks profit.

sadly ss as most of other brands choose the second way.

I would either ride boots or straps.

Not those bastardized things.

I had a pair of these a year ago and I loved them. I thought they were perfect for what I wanted. Held my feet in really well and let me loose on a big smash without hurting me a bit!

I really loved them. the only reason I've not got them now is because I lost my Board, bindings and go pro mount out at sea :(

Could not afford another pair

Had my a good 8 months rode most weekends no trouble or even sign of wear! you might have just got a dodgy pair

Man these things suck in my opinion. They are harder to get on than straps but don't add the ankle support of boots. I would rather just use straps and a heel strap than these, but then again I tried them before I decided if I would buy them.

For me it's:
Boots when conditions are right.
Straps when it's light or too gnarly to unhook.
Strapless in the surf.
Joints never.

Hi Nectar

The situation I got into, it really did not matter what I had, boot, binding or joint. I would have lost the board.

It was all down to poor decision making on my part. an expensive lesson learnt.

Basically:-

lonely beach
Only two riders
light wind day.
The old last run before the wind dies! ( we've all done it)
Went too far out
Wind died,
Took a long time to re-launch
I don't use a leash.

Board got away from me whilst trying to re-launch

all this added up to a very sad day

I like slingshot but the joint is exactly what it sounds like. A half baked idea.

Twitch why are you so against them?

Just a question - nothing more, just interested to understand why we have such wildly different opions of a product?

These were the only Slingshot product I've ever bought, as I prefferd other brands when it came to kites. namely North. but they are now too expensive for me as my situation has changed.
