Hey supa,
hows the LTD power compared to the 19m Core? Is it as easy to steer as the Core and is the steering radius bigger/smaller?
Could you do a comparison to your beloved Core? Have you ever ridden an Ozone Edge or the Naish Fly?Thanks,Robbie :)

I would say the power is quite similar
It is as easy to steer as the Core and the radius felt quite close
The Core is more Freeride..greater ease in waves...with very smooth kiteloops / downloops
The LTD quick power accelerates you and makes you boost really high....with maximum hangtime

The LTD packs quite a punch for it's size going upwind...beam reach....and broad reach
I felt such a direct connection to kite with the North Trust bar no stretch gold lines
Totally different kites..felt a tiny bit more bar pressure on LTD...but got used to it real quick

I would definitely ......if i could afford it......own both

Let's not forget the Nugget 2013 i rode with it.....that is an awesome board...perfect combo :thumb:

Had the FLY. Good kite but no comparison to LTD! 2 diff kites.

Which one will fall out of the sky first in really light wind, the fly is 2 strut and light so should beat the heavier Dyno, what you reckon, thanks,TONY

I know the Fly stayed in the sky w VERY light wind. I will have to test the LTD to see. The LTD seems Very efficient meaning it launches and lands w out any Hickups near the ground at the Edge of the window. Meaning it flys w out much coaxing or input.

Design-wise, it is pretty much an early iteration of what will be the 2013 Dyno.

Thanks Dan! Can't wait for the 2013 to come out. Any chance of cutting the 2012 Dyno price in half for 2013 so I can afford one :D

When are the 2013's scheduled to come out?

Are there any US stores that have the Dyno LTD for sale right now?

Davesails-

I believe that all US shops are sold out of Dyno LTDs. I think there might be a few 2012 Dynos in some shops, but probably not in all sizes. If you really want help finding a 2012 on closeout ask your local retailer or PM me and I'll see if I can find you one.

2013 Dynos are scheduled to arrive in the US in mid April. Be aware that these are a bit of a specialty item, like the LTD, with many people ordering them before they arrive, so if you want to be sure to get one, I'd start talking to your local shop as soon as possible to try to get one lined up.

G'day Dan,

is the Dyno LTD similar to the 2013 Fuse in shape and if so will the 16/18m Fuse have similar power and steering characteristics? For those of us who don't race but like the power, would a Fuse be better suited free riding wise. The 2012 for me is not very good at free riding and worse it didn't have the bottom end so I'm very cautious as I usually just order and buy sight unseen. I'd love to try but that is usually not possible.

cheers,

Robbie :)

Hello,

I've seen all the north 2013 race gear , and it looks sick! BUT the price is double sick!

Changes I've noticed are: the kites (7-9-11-13-15-17) have NO pulleys, to enhance direct feeling and less weight. This also means it can only be used with 5th line! 13/15/17 are way more powerful than 2012
They also offer a racebar with thinner lines (reduced weight and 4:1 depower), very expensive(+/- 590€) and limited quantity.
The board hasn't changed much , flatter nose, little tweaks, more comfort. (Retail 1899€)Also on offer CNC fins , 3 degree cant, 200€/fin

Like I said it looks awesome and fast, but...the prices.

I'm selling my Dyno 2012 13/17 and Ltd race69 2012, low price!

Going to another brand....

Puetz-

The 2013 Dyno is significantly different than the 2013 Fuse in design and construction, but both should have tons of low end. I haven't ridden either, but here is Ken Winner's take on comparing and contrasting the two kites in their largest respective size (Ken designs the Fuse and the Dyno, along with the Rebel)...

The Dyno 17 is actually nearly 18 sqm, so the sizes are very close.

The Dyno 17 flies quite wide compared to the Fuse and it’s a pound (roughly) lighter than the Fuse.

The Fuse has a bit flatter canopy and narrower arc and since it’s heavier doesn’t fly quite as well in super-light wind, but I think it jumps a bit better than the Dyno.

Other differences:
-Fuse has single point inflation, Dyno has 6-point inflation
-Fuse has back pigtail bungees
-Fuse has more reinforcements and so has a little tougher build.
-Fuse can be flown on the North 4-line bar. Dyno can be flown 4-line, but not on a North bar (Dyno 5th line is for safety and relaunch).
-Fuse has three bar hardness settings for the back pigtail.

Overall I think the Fuse is good for the guy that rides a twin-tip and wants to do light-air tricks or who wants to ride over-powered and do jumps and tricks. The Dyno is more for the cruiser on a directional who mostly stays on the water and likes a lot of wind range and upwind ability."

Hope that helps, and I hope to have some user reviews once the Fuses land in a couple weeks and the Dynos a couple months thereafter.

-Dan

Thx Dan.

I guess the 3 setups at the tips are also for turning speed.

Maybe in about 2 weeks I can take the Fuse 18 for a spin.
