Isla Mujeres is not a good kite spot. Isla Blanca which is about 20 minutes north of Puerto Juares is good shallow flat water for most wind directions,. Puerto Juarez is where you take the ferry to Isla Mujeres. There is camping and a few rooms at Isla Blanca, it would be best to stay in Puerto Juarez or Cancun and take a taxi or collectivo. If you contact Ikarus Kiteboarding they have a van that picks people up in Cancun.

Isla Mujeres is not a good destination for kiteboarding in Mexico, there are no good beaches for launching. There is only one good spot but only for 'North' winds, you won't find those winds in May, only in winter. Hopefully you can get some wind on May, is the last month of the season. We suggest that you go to Yucatan, maybe San Felipe, Progreso, Rio Lagartos, you will have more chances to kite.
Good luck, any question let me know, I live on the area.
