There's actually a sailing supplies shop in Osaka that has Amsteel etc by the METER

and does internet-order, COD shopping - takes about 3 days. Otherwise, it's a 4-hour round trip costing $50 on the motorway

They have a good selection... not comprehensive, but good enough.

Still, the value of using a certain kite should not be determined on the price of a cheap and easily obtainable bridle line, whether ordered through Dimitri ahead of time or ordered from a boat supply company ahead of time. Heck, even ordering some sliders AND a replacement bridle is not that big a deal, and chances are the original bridle will be just fine for as long as you have the kite. I have noted no wearing of the bridles on my 2G screamer 12 and 3G Screamer 14.

And you have kited those kites how many times?

My advice (and I bought these sliders)- buy proper pullies or you will still end up with heavy wearing of the bridles with these sliders.

Dude, there's no such thing as "proper pulleys". Even the most robust and supper-sealed (and rather huge) ones will end up jammed up after a while at the expense of being a potential line-dangler. Hell, even in ideal conditions with a pulley that isn't jammed the line will wear - it's just plain physics as in "don't piss against the wind". You're lucky to live at a location where you can kite everyday, which also means that you have to maintain your gear a lot more often then others. Everybody know that the piece of a bridle that goes through pulleys needs to be replaced every so often. Everybody know that if you maintain that piece of a bridle it will last longer that if you don't. So please stop blaming a gear manufacturer for your own laziness. Or just buy kites without pulleys or sliders altogether.

I personally tend towards Pulleys. The sliders are good too but i just have more faith in the pulleys.
