Switch MJ Comp Twintip Review

Postby toddalbinson » Wed Mar 06, 2013 1:41 pm

This review is for the 138.

I was a little worried that I would not like this board because I come from riding LF Influence. All the other boards I demo feel way too stiff and like their on railroad tracks. Being a team rider for Switch I figured I would give the MJ a try.
First off let me say that the board does everything Switch says it does. Massive pop, makes chop its bitch, and rockets up wind. The first thing I noticed about the board was how light it was. It has a Paulownia wood core so that it is also strong. Another thing about this board is the insert placement. I am able to duck my feet out farther than any other board I have owned.
So here is what I really like about the board. It does not submarine on landings. Alot of boards will nose dive in on landings if your not a little in the back seat. I am able to fully stomp both feet on my landings and the board just rides away nicely. This equates to me being able to land more tricks. So far I can't find anything wrong with the board. I will post again later after I have more days on board and have given it major abuse. :x

I found a review that says it's 3.5kg with switch straps. Got on bath scale and 8lbs with cabrina comp bindings so prob around 6-7lbs. It has a progressive rocker. I'd say it's pretty flat.

Got a chance to try the board fin less in a slick and it was amazing. Got to imagine that it would be even better with boots!
