This has to be a scam right?

Postby pixelpedro » Tue Mar 26, 2013 8:10 pm

A noob buddy of mine, naturally obsessed with the sport, came across this site the other night. I told him to stay away, but I can't help to be curious and think, how is this possible if it isn't a scam?

http://www.kamlayangshop.com/category/k ... /cabrinha/

Export only kites, is there such thing. The doesn't even make sense, cause they're manufactured overseas.

legit or not - questioning kite shops is like talking about weather :D

If your 'friend' is really into it, here are 2 ways he could deal with his obsession:
The site (Indonesia) has PayPal as checkout. Contact PayPal about fraud protection and they can 'hold' your payment until both sides are satisfied. Me thinks that's up to two weeks. It's been a while that i've done that.
Same for some cc providers. They can put 'a virtual hold' on your payment until release. Call up your cc and talk your way through.
Anyway - it's a bit of a hassle but worth it dealing with dubious shops/sellers/outlets/off-the-truck. Never send money orders (nor accept Nigerian money orders for that matter  )

Good luck - peace

Hello pixelpedro,
Yes it is a scam be very careful.
We had to send them a message telling them that they are not an authorize dealer of ours and we were going to pursue if he did not remove the EPIC product from his web page. So they did, but the customer lost his money. So just be very careful and good luck.

Good tip, tnx, but I won't even pass it along, cause I believe sometimes, by saving a few bucks, you'll spend more in the process.

Well from my understanding the customer did pay and never got his product. So he emailed them and never got a response, but he used his CC so he was able to get his money back but it took a while.
