Headed to the UK next week for a month. Does anybody know if there are places close by to kite. I was going to go to Barcelona too , Is there any action over there? Any help appreciated ( I wonder if a 4/3 suit is enough for those places or is it just too cold )

Loads of action and can have lots of wind. Where in the UK are you saying? And it's very cold at the moment but should warm up soon.

train will be a pain and take ages. you should rent a car and go to Southend for flat lagoons or the southcoast for general/wavy conditions.
rent a car it will be easier, but remember average car will cost about £100 or $150 to fill up, but could get you 3 trips to the coast from London.
As regards cold, depends on what you're used to, it has been unseasonably cold last few months and hovering around 4 C, but minus with windchill. it should be a balmy 10-15 C soon.

Car rental would be the way to go, you can do the train. London bridge or Victoria to lancing & 10 min walk. £30 return.
Car you can hit a load of spots from 90 mins out from London any wind direction. Whitstable , minster for anything with a north in it. Then sw se it's the south coast. Camber sands, shoreham, lancing, hove, littlehampton,

I think Brigthon has some good kiting too. Maybe there's a kiting club/community. They have a London surf club therefore I am sure the kitesurfing eqv must exist.
Blowing a solid 40 knots in Cape Town today !!
