Hey Guys,
I'm in SanFran for the next week or so and am looking for some nice spots to kite and people to kite with whilst I'm here.

Any help would be appreciated!

Jess

If it's blowing at Sherman Isle. while your in SF, I would definitely make a trip out there. It's over an hours drive towards the valley, but well worth it if it's on. ;-)

Next week looks a bit iffy. If you are into waves, Waddell (just north of Santa Cruz) is the place to go. Crissy Field is the most scenic spot with views of the Golden Gate Bridge and downtown, but you need to be en expert kiter and make an effort to understand all the conditions there (current, wind shadows, ship traffic, etc). The most consistent spot closest to the city is 3rd Ave in San Mateo. Not as scenic, but lots of good people and good wind and not as dangerous as the open ocean or Crissy Field.

To all the helpful Bay area kiteboarders:

I will be in SF next week (May 18th-24th) for a convention... won't be able to bring my gear though so I would have to rent. I am focussed on waveriding and would love to visit Waddell (and the forecast for next week seems to be good).

Any recommendations on places to rent material focussed on wave riding, and are there alternatives for Waddell closer to SF?

recommend you post your question on the forum link below.
I know of some places you can rent, but those are located far from Waddell so you are still in for quite a drive.

good luck and have fun.
Bring your wetsuit, preferably not yumyum-yellow a :)
