If money was no issue, and you had to replace your wearing lines, where do you spend your greenies, and why?

Flexifoil lines off the hadlow pro bar.

I have been in several collisions, with different dynamics both times, and my lines have cut every other line they've come across, with no damage to themselves.

They are a funny feeling braid - almost serrated, and dont feel very nice when you ride around with your bar spun at all....but they are some bad mothers.

I would not use much time thinking about this...

As my experience over the last many years, has been that newer lines are of an extremely high quality and they last almost "forever".
Only accidents or if you are a "dog" with your lines, can make them wear out fast it seems.

Some might say that "some" lines are better pre-stretched than others.

This might be true - but on the other hand, I've seen some new line sets from different suppliers, that works great most of the time, and then suddenly there can be one lineset where a line will "give" a bit too much...
So even here, nothing is "safe" regarding this very issue.

New lines will stretch quite fast though and typically in pairs, so you adjust accordingly, and end of story

Must say I am REALLY REALLY amazed by the quality and life-time of kite lines today :thumb:

Compared to what we sometimes saw back in the days - yiaks :dontflameme:

So I would not worry much about this - just go and get a new lineset 8)

And there would most likely not be any relationship between price and quality, if you take the lines typical kite brands use today - as many lines are quite equal even when the price is not :-?

But SOME lines might be more different, true - it is just most likely at expense of something else then, like thicker (more drag and slack) or heavier etc...

:D Peter

The lines on the new BWS bars are radically different. Dunno if they are better. The are much stiffer. Might be the same stuff as the Hadlow pro bar. I have a Ruben Lenten Pro Slingshot bar with extra thick lines and they are going to outlive me.

I had an Ion4, and the bar came with hadlow lines (not from flexi, from private seller), they looked and felt super tough, and I never experienced and bar tangles either.

A buddy of mine just ordered the Q-power lines (I think is what they're called), they seem indestructible.

Yea --Q-Power is a Good choice ; make them your-self cause they take knots well.
BUT
i'd like to hear more about these Flexifoil lines please ; Q- power is a bit
difficult to run-out when placing them on the kite for set-up !

I have the hadlow id by flexifoil with the hadlow id bar, and man those lines are good! When they get tangled they are easy to deal with, and since theres some coating on it, they say its teflon, it seems that they wont wear off as easily as noncoated lines. Great lines

Ultrex 12 1/16th has the 800 lb breaking strength, the 1/8 inch is 1900 lb.

Maybe for a center line, but not for flying lines.
