Soma Bay has a very good kitespot at the 7Bft Kitehouse (which is the best i've ever seen) and is not very far away from El Gouna.
I've been there 2 years ago in August and had a lot of fun and a lot of wind
Think that the Kiteschool has an own hotel with a shuttle service.http://kitehouse-somabay.com
Looks good, I have been checking and I suppose that in El Gouna is also difficult to have the hotel in front of the spot. So, it's similar to Soma Bay and the 7Bft spot, taking some transportation every day and storing the gear at the beach.
About the wind, is there any difference between El Gouna and Soma Bay?
And about hotels, facilities, safety... is more a less the same in booth places?
I was afraid that there's low wind some days (or during a week) and the idea of having a cable park (El Gouna) is attractive for us.
Can anyone confirm that August is windy there?
I want to read that there are 14/15 knots everyday....
But... Is it usually blowing all day long or only in the afternoon?
