Reviews on Switch kites and boards?

Postby pwnd550 » Sun Apr 14, 2013 12:41 am

Hello,
A while ago I saw that Switch kites makes cool kites for much less than other brands like North and Naish, and I recently saw that they started selling boards.
Does anyone have experience with Switch? What do you think of it? How is the freestyle board? and the straps?

Thanks
Thomas

Hi Thomas,
I do not own a Switch TT board, as I only use directionals, but I fly Switch kites, a friend of mine purchased a Switch TT board ( he has a Spleene board and a Fone board)
He now has the Switch TT board and says it feels like it cuts through butter, through chop, and it has great pop, it looks like he is very happy with it, as I only see him using this board( Spleene board (2011) is for sale now).
Quality of manufacturing is like all other high levelled brands, do not worry about that!
Bust as previously said, try to get a teamrider in your neighbourhood and get a test, you will see no matter what all others write, you only can be your own judge.
Good Luck with your choise!

Their kites are well built and have well thought out designs. Price is obviously very competitive. The reality is all kites these days are about trade offs and personal preference, brands that claim their kites are better than the competition are talking BS  If you have a team rider check them out and see if they are right for you

You might want to check out the Wainman Joke.
Fantastic reputation, super quality construction, made in Austria.
I got a screaming deal on one in December, built like a tank.
Do a search here on the forum to find out more about the Joke.
PM me if you become interested in one, I can put you in touch with the right guy.

Before I start I have to say we are currently using switch kites at my school and yes officially we are team riders but I tried the kite before I came a team rider, and the reason I became a team rider was because I loved them....if anyone's interested I wrote a review (link below)...now obviously you have to take into account my need to validate my own purchase, but everyone I've got to test them has given me very positive feedback as well, so I do feel justified in what I write:

Hi Hasse yes l see myself more as a PR rider for switch, but when you say A in public, You can say B too , it is not bashing if one writes honestly what it is about, we all can learn and or react to it, this way other people and the Switch team can react to it, and l am sure they will react in an appropriat way.

Cheers
Dude
