Hello guys,
If you are planning a trip to the Outer Banks (NC-USA) or you are already on the Outer Banks, then make sure to check the "
OBX SURF INFO" for your weather report in order to plan your vacation or check where the best spots are for kiting, surfing, and different events or best place to eat. They have live HD cameras all over the Outer Banks so you can check for example what's going on at the "slick" in Waves, or what's going on in the Ocean and so on...with out having to move.
This is the web site:
http://www.obxsurfinfo.com/ in case you want to check it out.

The summer on the OBX is a great place to come to. With lots of SW winds especially in the summer. This is the reason why the WRIGHT BROTHERS chose this place to test the first plane in history. So if they are calling for (SW 5 to 15 mph) you will be kiting by the end of the day in 18 to 25 mph. If they are calling (SW 15 to 25 mph) then get ready to kite in (20 to 35 mph). The best winds are from April all the way to end of August - September.
Then you get into the Hurricane season. Then October, November is also great but more N winds then S winds. Then in December, January, February, March it gets very cold.
I hope this helps. But the "OBX SURF INFO" web site will give you all these details. The only problem about coming in the summer is that the price rental for housing is very high. So camping will be a great thing to do if you want to save on money.

You are welcome
pixelpedro. From what I see since you leave in FL the best thing to do will be to check the 7 day forecast for May/June/July. If you see SW winds 10-15 then get in your car and drive up or take a plane. Also you can check the wind forecast from different other wind forecast such as
IKITESURF (
which is my #1 pick),
WINDGURU or the
WUNDERGROUND. But the "
OBX SURF INFO" is a good place to start.
Good luck and have an epic summer.

Yes bgkiter it's very cold right now. It feels like winter but its blowing hard. It was in the 70's four days ago and now with the North wind it feels like 40 degrees. The ocean is out of control. Perfect time to test my new wave kites.

I know its hard to guess but what do you anticipate the water temperature being in about 3 weeks? I know typically by the end of May it is around 70 degrees but we had a late winter and cold spring. I'm planning a trip for a week around May 10-17 and i need to know what suits to bring. Thanks for any info.
PS.. Ocean temps
