I guess that's a great compliment for the design folks at Ocean Rodeo - especially Ross - as far as design and engineering goes.
Here's that Mako feeling for ya:

Linux - topic starter couldn't back in 2009 see how cool Linux (as in Android) would be. So which board compares to Android?

I used to own Mako, great board for crusing, chop, waves.
NHP is a standout too, as comfy in messy stuff as above but you can nicely snap it... great all-around.

I use a mako but run windows XP in a virtual machine on a mac.
The mako is great in the confused swell of the gulf. It is great in choppy water and carves like a dream. But it really does not have good pop at all. And it has below average upwind performance. Maybe I dont know how to ride it, but In many conditions I prefer my crazyfly raptor, especially when the water is not that choppy and if the wind is up and down.
The crazyfly sucks if the there is confused swell coming from multiple directions greater than around 2 ft. (catches the edge). The crazyfly also has annoying face spray.

Hey acctx, Makos do take a bit of a different approach if you want to go upwind well.
Here's a recent topic on just that on the Ocean Rodeo forum.

just looked up this board... is it actually lopsided or is the photo off skew?
Anyhow, I have owned each size of Mako 140 and 150 and still have the Mako 150 Wide and Classic and my wife has the Mako Mini... I ride all of them and use the following OS's... Windows (2000 server,XP,7) Linux (Debian and Ubuntu) and Mac (iOS, and Mountain Lion w/server)

NHP is asymetric and works great in chop, flat, surf, etc.
Windows 8 is almost worse than Vista......almost.

Vista and 8 are not allowed in this building... period
Are you in SWO Poacher? I'd like to take a closer look at that board.
