Then you need to drill two holes into the bar.
Not sure about stability though.
Using a ML windsurfing style is dangerous, since you cannot activate the chickenloop QR.
North bar can. Get a used bar up to 2012 and buy the ML upgrade kit.
You are right Toby. It's an upgrade for experienced kiters only and very dangerous.

Hi mate,
viewtopic.php?t=2380029&p=790649
I just hope North finds a solution for the stuck swivel and the not-working micro-hook/loop since I would not have bought this kite if I would have known beforehand the micro-loop/hook can't be assembled.
Cheers

The hook is a molded piece that installs in the north swivel, and the ba has two holes for the mini loop. Made by north, for north bars, which will fly ozone kites.
Bummer your swivel is sticking Caesar, try pulling the centerline through the swivel for a couple inches back and forth in case it is caught, if that doesn't work perhaps if you take apart the swivel, (instructions are in the manual) there may something in there? I have never had one stick but have taken apart a bunch. Good luck.
Hi Billy,
Thank you. I tried the centerline but it runs freely.
I looked all over the manual but there are no instructions and I don't know how to take apart the swivel. Do I have to removed the screws and clamp where you normally install the micro-hook?
Cheers

Caesar page 30 of the bar manual has instructions on how to remove the swivel hopefully there's something stuck in there and you can clean it out with some water.if you still can't figure out how to get it open I'm happy to talk you through it step by step

Yes Sir, the inside of the roto is hollow and may have something caught in it. Hopefully you have solved the issue by now.

Hi,
I just wanted to let you know the outcome. I had spoken with North and they sent a new 2012 iron heart the same day I had spoken with them (plus another surprise part which I don't want to mention or everybody would contact them, hoping for that part). The holes of the 2013 iron heart are different to the one from the micro-hook. If I would drill new holes to fit the micro-hook, they would result in long holes and that would not function.
That's what I call great customer service!
I'm still waiting for a functioning QR from Epic (and this since July last year!) since their QR failed when I needed to deploy it last year. I was dragged on the beach for more than 100 meters while I tried to release that piece of junk with all my forces, resulting in 1 night in hospital, 6 weeks out of the water and a write-off of that kite which ended up in a tree and saved me from more injuries or killing me (read the article of that Canadian kiter who just died in a similar accident). Several local kiters saw the accident and how I desperately tried to release the QR (in case you Epic followers/supporters question that or come up with 'my QR is working fine'). Several other Epic kite owners I contacted said the same that it is very hard to deploy that QR.
No sign of a replacement kite or 2 functioning replacement Quick Releases (I have another 10m LTD, 9m and the other QR of that kite is doing exactly the same).
Cheers

a part of the way of the holes in the bar from the upper side has to be thicker than the lower part.
So the black plastic part that is at both ends of the loop gets stuck at the part where the hole gets smaller.

Yes, you have to drill holes in 2 different sizes. You drill the lesser diameter completely through first and then a bit bigger hole for 1cm only from the other side. I don't have the drill sizes here but can tell people if interested.
Had done it on my Epic bar too.
Cheers
