When I inflate my fuse 18 to 6 psi, 30 min later is 3Psi.
I bought the kite at calikite and brought it to Brazil. I havent used it and I dont know the what is best thing to do.
I am afraid of desasembling the kite to look for the micro hole and things get worse.
How do you handle with this prblem in US?

You don't have to disassemble the kite to find a puncture.

Just get a spray bottle with soapy water in it and start spraying.

The hole will blow bubbles!

Let us know how u got on.

Good luck with this, hopefully you can find one. Sometimes the hole can be so small that you won't find it even if you dunk it under water, it'll stay inflated until you fly it, then it starts to lose pressure.

I wonder if tomahawking it a bunch of times would make the hole a little bigger so you can find it....

... pump up to minimum of 6 psi and use soapy spray bottle slowly check the ends first then valves. If nothing then you'll have to check the entire Leading edge.

My guess is that its at the end of the LE as I had a few myself. I had my first day old 2011 Rebel get a small holes and weiredly it was all the blue ones that came to town. Must have been a batch of that time. We had many Rebels in town and only the blue ones had the weird fault. Mine went on the first day, barely an hour old.

Anyway, no big deal and its an easy fix, just pull the bladder out and put a patch on the hole, you should have a few in the repair kit that came with your kite.

Robbie :D

ps, if it only takes 30minutes to go down, its going to show up easily with the spray bottle

I had a similar problem. 1-2h of flightime and most of the pressure was gone. 2010 vegas. I could not locate the pinhole myself, a friend of mine did it (he was quite pissed, a looot of time wasted) but after patching it up ... it flies like new till now.

I found two holes when it had 6 psi pressure, as soon as i took the bldder out and inflated it again I couldnt find the holes anymore, i put 3 patches in the area i presumed they were but didnt work out. 6psi pressure and they were at the same place. I just cant believe it, the kite is brand new, never used.

... yeah that sucks abit! Maybe its a shit happens situation, you never know maybe something rubbed against it?? Anyway, quick question, where roughly are the holes?

I've had many tiny holes over the years and its soooo hard to find them when the bladder is out of the kite. Logically its because you can't put enough pressure in to make the tiny holes open enough to make the bubbles show up easily.

One way to find it is to put the bladder back in the kite and pump up to full pressure, spray soap on and when you find them, dry as best you can with a rag then get a marker pen and put a dot right over the hole which hopefully the ink will 'leak' through the LE onto the bladder. I know its not ideal but it can work.

Another way is to again find the holes as done originally, then take bladder out and pump up and squeeze in your hand either side the area and put under water in a pool, then with great patiences, wait for a little bubble to show and importantly have a friend close by to quickly mark with a pen as you find it.

Once bladder is out, soapy water over area then place finger (as if you are pointing at something) and run it over where you think the hole is, back and forth and up and down, slowly. The fact that you have your finger on bladder you can create a surface tesion for the soap to build up a bigger bubble, and therefore show up easier, it sort of simulates as if its pumped up to a higher pressure. Again, pen ready to mark the exact spot.

Good luck,

Robbie :)
