Yes,my friend`s Vegas looks the same - it`s not an issue at all I guess, probably it is due to the certain ripstop lamination technology /I have no expertise it`s just a guess/.
More obvious over the green and grey canopy. The quality of the kite looks high though.

I compared this new Evo (left green on the picture) with my 2011 Dyno after 1 year of use.
I think ripstop on Dyno looks and feels much stronger (Technoforce D2 on both).
And my Evo 14m has no big batten on wingtip. On 1st picture you can see where it should be.
Is there guys from North to tell us how it could be? Or is this production defect?

My 2013 evo's. 12m in grey and green, looks just like yours in the canopy. i can't remember if the 9m looks the same, but ill tjek tomorrow.
But my 5m and 7m in orange looks perfect, no marks at all.
I had the same thoughts as you when i first saw it.

I Have 2 new gray evos in the bag, I will look at them. also were ios the serial number on your kite? It looks like there is not one on your tag on the bag?
And the big evos do not have the wing tip batten.

6. KITE CARE
>> Be sure that the kite has dried completely before packing up. Otherwise changes of color or mildew could occur. Such bleeding is not covered under the North Kiteboarding warranty.
My kite has problems with dye or color coating ("changes of color") from the box. So this is not uder warranty? But I never used the kite!

Wasn't there a similar thing with Cabrinha kites a couple of years ago? They loooked used when brand new because of the material or coating?

Yeah i think it bullshit how some kite brands charge top dollar for something that is like Rice paper and still rips just ad easily... I can hardly wait to see what they look like in two years if not thrown in the trash can !

To me that looks like chalking on the UV cover on the rip stop. It has nothing to do with the quality of the material and will be more prominent on some colors than others. This was the same with Cabrinha a few years back. It has nothing to do with the material but rather the bi-effect of the UV coating used.
Dont worry about it and go out and fly it instead.
