Slingshot Pit footstrap track issues!

Postby SpaceRacer » Thu May 02, 2013 3:22 am

I have the last generation (2012 or 2011) Slingshot Pit directional with the footstrap track. I ride the board strapped and therefore jump it. As such, the footstrap track bolt-ins keep sliding around. I spoke to Slingshot last year and they sent me these plastic washers which were supposed to help to no avail. I even went as far as cutting out the padding around the washers in hopes that the washers would not slide around to no avail. An old windsurfing engineer told me to put pieces of aluminum can under the bolt-ins to keep the from sliding around to no avail. Other than inserting fixed epoxied bolt-ins into the board, anyone know what to do to fix this?

Thanks,

Paul

you could try pot some pieces of wooden dowels in the track to stop the movement

E-mailed Slingshot and they didnt respond. So...the dowell idea is the best I've heard so far. Guess I can rename my board the Slingshot Dowell instead of Doyle.

Mine slide as well, but only if I use a hand screw driver to tighten the plate. I use an impact driver and it holds for a while. Try using lock tight on them. Might work. I beat the hell out of the board and over stretch the bolts and track for sure. That's why they loosen up. I even broke the board, buckled it, right between the tracks. Got it fixed with two carbon rods as mini stringers.

I would note where sliders are supposed to be, and glue in block of plastic, or hardwood if that is all you have on each side of slider.. make sure it's all clean and dry and use 5 min epoxy. you can glue the slider too. don't get glue on threads. you'll never get em out again tho..
