What's the verdict of the 15meter version? There is some feedback on 17 and 19 but nothing on the 15. Is it unsuccesful model or what? Any feedback highly appreciated!

I am looking for this kite as a LW kite with surfboard, specifically this size. I weigh 80kgs.

Thank you and good winds!

This is the best size of the series; I have tried the 17m and also the 19m and my favorite is the 15m.

I had one last fall and I really loved it. The kite is really fast for a 15m, the bar pressure is really light. Even lighter than my B6 14m. The nicest feature of that kite is the hangtime, that kite has some heavy float. It also has a great low end and the high end is also good.

Some people don't like the bar, but honestly it works ok. There is a video where they stuff it with sand and at some point I think they have problem releasing. But in real life it works as advertised. The bar is alos adujstable and it is one size fits all. The same bar for the whole Core XR2 lineup. You will be amazed how small it is for a 15m that moves so fast.

The relaunch is a piece of cake. I would say that it is the best light wind LEI that I have tried so far.
try it I am pretty sure that you will love it.

ps: This is a kite that I really regret selling to one of my friend.

Jules

We have mostly XR2LW Core Riot kites at our surf beach
Three 19m2...two 17m2..two 15m2
We all ride surfboards with the 3m extensions (24+3=27m)

Each and everyone raves about the size they own
We have found only 1 knot difference of low end in between them

If you want to be powered up (parked) all the way down to 10kn the 15m2 is it
At 9kn those on the 15m2 need to sine (and it does sine really fast) when in surf conditions

The 17m2 (parked) goes down to 9kn and at 8kn need to sine
The 19m2 (parked) goes down to 8kn and at 7kn need to sine

Those observations were compiled using LW Quad surboards

If that sounds good to you go for it

 :pump: :surf: :sun:

Does anyone know how much the 15m weighs? I can't seem to find that info online anywhere...

I have a 15m and have tried also the 19m. I really love this 15m because it is powerful, very fast for a 15m and easy to relaunch. The quality is also top notch. Yesterday I was riding with the 15m and my Fone Fish 5'10" while my friends where on 19-21m and I was able to ride in very LW conditions. The 15m IMO is much more fun then the 17m, the 19m is for heavier rider or if you really need thoses 2 knots more in low end.

Hi, I own a 15 and I'm really happy with it! I sold the 17 XR LW because the 15 is faster and I like it much more. It's easy, powerful, has great hang time and it's a piece of cake to relaunch.
The bar is perfect, never mind the video where they fill ithe QR with a lot of sand and show it does not work any more, it works perfectly and never failed when I used it. Nobody is so stupid to fill his QR with loads of sand...

Thx for your comments! 15 it is then :D

One question about deflating the kite, do you keep the stick inside the valve after you have packed the kite? I ask this because if I just roll the kite and after that I remove the stick there is some air left which you can notice when folding the kite into the bag, and it could be quite a lot of air left there, "ballooning" the kite, which I dont like.

How do you do it?

Thanks!

I keep the stick in until the kite is well rolled and folded but you need to remove it for storage because if not, it could deform the shape of the valve inside (it's like a thin rubber flap). In cold weather it is a problem if we leave the stick in and the cold temp will tend to keep the deformed flap shape and air could leak. So remove the deflate stick once you have finish rolling and folding your kite. The deflating system on the Core is the only drawback I find on them. I would prefer a valve like on the Cab 2013 but for inflating is is very fast and soo easy!

I normally don't leave the stick inserted to avoid problems to the valves. When it's time to pack the kite tightly (i.e. when I'm packing for a travel), I take my time to force all the air outside gently pushing first on every bladder and then on the leading edge. I agree that the "old" classic system was easier for deflating and packing.

When it happens, this problem can be solved by pushing the membrane against the valve with your finger, once the kite is deflated.
It will go back to its original form and efficiency.
