About as well as you average sheet I imagine
I will rephrase that question as a statement. I suspect they would fold up pretty quickly if the lines were unloaded.

hi,
as far as i know the paragliders using single skin have problems to depower.
Can imagine this as there is no inside air pressure...

cheers,

Related to this discussion are the following realms:
== David Barish's Glide Wing single-layer. Single-skin.
== Rogallo's single-layer limp kites and their strategic stiffening. Single-skin.post HERE.
== NPWs with terra-bound anchors or moving anchors or free-falling anchors (gliding kites, gliding parachutes, canopy hang gliders). Single-skin.
== Pere Casellas and the BarretinaHyperLite simple surface kites and PGs HERE. Single-skin.
== PlaySail. Single-skin.
== Mothra arch kites Single-skin. HERE. and EneryKiteSystemHere
== Non-rotating arch ribbon kites Single-skin.
== Some spider webs . Single-skin.
== David Culp's OutLeader with three bridle lines. Single-skin. HERE
== Tarp flying ... single skin HERE
== Ozone's single-skin HERE
== FlySurfer single-skin

Single-skin development is not a done-deal. Texture, turbulators, shaping, bridling, material choices, chordwise shaping, spanwise shaping, etc. form an exciting development era.. From flags to just before double-layering Jalbert is a spectrum of play that will keep many exploring yet for some time to come.

CONSIDER?
Explore ciliated fuzz bottom-surface texture for single-skin wings. What will the air entrainment do to performance, handling, depowering, re-powering, etc.? Strategic ciliation? Specialized patterns of ciliation? Length and design of the hairs? Reports are invited.

YOU are welcome to each of them for furthering your interest in the kite sector.

Founder/moderator of scores of web sites dedicated to specialized sectors of kiting.

Daily: hobby all. I put in about 8 hours daily on my hobby of kiting.

Sorry about the episode in OZ where my posts filled the page one week; since that episode, I have kept Davis' discipline that he and Scare arranged for my enthusiasm. Some enjoyed the posts, some were without the time to enjoy the flow. I take it from your tone that you might not have the time to mine my flow; feel free to skip over my posts; I have no agenda to force you to the kiting table that I am excited about. I am interested in your kiting, though. Keep me informed; thanks.

[ ] ?
Notice that I am here in KiteForum as "rare" poster. It appears you do not want me to post in KiteForum. Is the KiteForum your special turf that would be bothered by my flow? What specific topic seems to grind against your temperament? [ ] ?

You are welcome to choose the one-penny option to get a $20 value classic:
http://EnergyKiteSystems.net/Birdflight/index.html
Or if you see me at some kiting site, just mention the book to me and I will hand over a new copy to you without the postage-handling cost or penny, just free to you, Bille, as the supply lasts; right now I have over 1000 copies that I want to gift to kiteboarders.

The sport of kiteboarding has been around way before 1963.

I also did it about 10 years ago, probably the simplest solution.
