I always flew the 7.5 on 55 cm bar

Maybe we are looking for different things.

I didn't like the GP loops much either. Torch and razor felt worlds better (to me) for powered hooked in loops.

I love the stability of the kahoona though. Agree to disagree I guess :)

Freddie - the kite will turn the fastest at 3/4 with drive power still pulling hard upwards..
If it is gusty wind with big holes - DONT megaloop or youll lose your virginity lol.
I have 2 bars, snd use a naish universal bar with Y lines about the middle. This limits the wingtips from flaring. Holds better consistent shape and loops faster.
But yes there are better kites, try to demo them as there is a lot of dissapointing hype these days in the 'lift versus loop' area.

Sounds like you are not committed enought. The kite is very friendly and losse a lot of speed and power if you depower it to much, and specially if you don't pull hard enough. I don't like it whenthe kite just loops so fast I can't it in front of me low before gjetning it up to catch me again. But if your goal is just a plain loop high in the window, try be more aggressiv on the bar, and remember no to much depower. You can try the fish pole technique to get it faster.
You are right it's not the most powerful kite for transitions, as the narrow wingtip and the pilot trening does not gira as much power in turns as a kite with wider wingtips (as a c)...
