I don't know much about the new EVO, but I've been loving the ride quite a lot. I am waiting for my new 9, and ca't wait to get it. My personal opinion..the ride stand up to the evo without the price differential...based on earlier EVO's but there really is a lot of personal preference....so what are you looking for?

I enjoy the Ride. Got an 8, 12, and bar for 1,600 from REAL. There are just deals that you can't pass up and that was one of them. I've heard a lot of bigger people (200lbs +) don't like the Ride in 12, but I'm 205 and it is a fine kite. Very easy to relaunch and goes upwind really well.

I changed from Parks to a full quiver of rides 6, 8, 10, 12 and I fricking love them all. Forgiving, stable kite with no bad habits. Slightly harder bar pressure than a park, slightly slower turning, but better low end and depower. I have not flown the EVO though. (PS Not a pimp - I pay for my kites and ride what I like)
