I’ve never been to Hawaii, so need any help. We plan a trip to Maui or Oahu in the end of July.
We are a small team, kitesurfers (advanced level) and surfers (beginners), so we are looking for location where both activities is possible
Any advice on spot and cheap accommodation? Thanks!

Surf is inconsistent ( to none ) in summer, some small wind swell on north shores, occasional south swells. Windy as all get out on Maui in summer though, on north shore... Fortunately traffic not as bad in Maui... Stay relatively near the isthmus if you want to get around.
Cheap? Rental cars were cheap, not much else was cheap when I was there...
Hawaii is awesome though.

I go to Kailua each year end of June early July. Great kiting 2 out of 4 days. take a 10 and 12.I stay in Waikiki and drive over about 20 mins each day. Car is about 40 per day if you hire for a couple of weeks, shop around, pick up from airport. Please respect the locals at Kailua and follow local direction. I get across to kitebeach Maui for a couple of days. Airfare say 250 return, strict on luggage weight so just take an 6 and 8. Car hire 59 per day. Lots of cheap accom in local town 5 mins from kitebeach. Again respect the locals. No kiting before 11. Weather at both you will only need shorts and rashy, hat and sun lotion. Hope this helps.

I just saw this.
I go to Maui every year, I recommend it
If you ended up in Oahu. Consider taking an island hop to Maui
Sorry it's late, Max
