I got a call from the manager of the golf course today. He reminded me that they're happy to let us park in that lot, but ONLY along the fence that's adjacent to the bike path. There have been a lot of kiters parking all over the lot and making it difficult for golfers to park. These folks really want to be friendly toward us, but they will have little choice but to tow cars if we don't police ourselves (i.e. park only along the fence).
Also, please be VERY careful not to leave any trash behind.
Please spread the word if you would.
Thanks.

Well his location says California, isn't it an honorary member of the EU or something?

The 3rd Ave site is in Foster City, CA. My location info says S.F. Bay Area. Anyone that's ever kited 3rd Ave, or even kited in the San Francisco bay area will know the location. And if they've ever parked in the golf course parking lot, they'll know who they are.
The golf course management invites us to park there, but asks that we park only along the bike path. That's more than reasonable.

I saw a lot of cars parked at the golf course today that were not along the fence. They all seemed very surprised when I told them we were supposed to restrict ourselves to the spaces along the fence. One or two seemed to feel they were allowed to park in the other spots since the spots along the fence were full. And I guess they are - in exactly the same sense that the golf course is allowed to tow them. Come on folks - this is NOT our lot!

Parking issues are very serious, and can turn into major access issues, happened at Keswick ON 5 years ago, the top spot in Ontario.
Here's how the town dealt with it.
In no time, there wasn't a parking problem any more, and the local residents were happy.
