For my weight 42cm wide is light wind. So for riding overpowered in the chop it way too big. I might be wrong about depower for your kite. I am using Toby's style to compliment what I am doing and that is riding like Chasta with a lot of spinning and looping and now I want to put in a board off or board spin into the mix. I use the kite that has a bit deeper profile and turns fast. I trim my kite to be on the verge of back stalling to get the lift from smaller size. If I bring the bar all the way in the kite almost stops in the air. So I ride with my hands way out on a small board but when I bring the bar in and get a big pop I get yanked into stratosphere. I have enough time to loop 2-3 times to bring me back to earth. I do the first loop helicopter style and here I want to use some Tobys fancy board tricks, then the second loop to get some horizontal movement because my kite is almost like a C up and down and if I need to slow down I might throw in the third. If I depower my kite too much my kite is getting back winded because of its profile.

Think about it this way. Suppose you are in a tug of war. And you hold the rope above your head and try to win. You can't gain leverage. Now suppose you angle your body close the ground and pull with the rope just a few inches above the ground. Now you can exert your entire strength against the rope.....
You advice make total sense (tho im a huge "fan" of physics laws...).
The only problem here, i never saw anyone ride with theiir kites "just above the waterline" most of the time.
Imba, not sure if any of my trailers show this...but could be.
Edt, show us a video with boardoff and helicopter loop, will look sick! I don't have any on video, but landed some since the kite was sometimes way behind the zenith (specially when kicking off waves), me spinning and then just before landing pulled the bar to not crash. Sweetest feeling ever! And even better when you do it higher up...pls film, wanna see !!!
Just wanted to jump in with suggestion why don't you guys using the Zeeko UDS Bar The design and workmanship is amazing, with spinning leash, stopper what you need etc It's only $375 complete 54" Bar, from Montreal with a good safety system and a lot of depower. I'm just changing to this on my Flysurfer Kites to get rid of the original lame infinity bar
