Bridle lines connection help!

Hey i am new to the sport and i just got a new Best Kahoona V5 and i went to set it up in my living room and ran into a problem. I got the lines for the red and blue set up, but when i got to the bridles with the gray lines both sides (coming from the bar, and coming from the kite) had male knots. I included a picture... Am i doing something wrong? Is there an adapter line missing that goes between them? Any help would be appreciated, and again i am a beginner.

Left side has a loop, create a larks head knot (or larks foot before some know it all corrects me) with the loop and attach it over the knot on the right

Quite often a line will have a knot and a loop so that it can be used either way, confusing for a newbie as you have found but allows the lines to work with other kites.

Oh i see, theres a loop and a knot for the bar lines so they can be used on any kite. Thank you so much for the quick reply

This reminds me of a discussion we had in the Kiteboarding subreddit.

And while I'm sure everyone here is well intentioned, we should be aware that freely giving advice like how to connect lines without some more background is akin to showing someone how to load a gun without knowing whether the person has any training to handle firearms. Or, if that's too hyperbolic for you: like giving someone the keys to a car without knowing whether they're licensed.

I'm not trying to be a spoilsport or supreme arbiter of kiteboarding morality. I'm just trying to suggest that these are opportunities to engage and ask some questions, see if the person is on the right track, and possibly steer them away from making a poor decision. To wit:

NathanRe, congrats on your purchase! Have you flown a trainer or taken lessons? If not, it's probably not a good idea to put a full-sized kite in the air for your first time--even in light winds. It's super-easy to ruin the kite or yourself.

I just peeked at your profile, and I have to admit; I'm a bit confused. The spots you list: Pismo Beach and Morro, from what I can tell, aren't anywhere nearly as windy as further north. But then, the kite you list in your equipment is a 7.5m, with a regular-sized board. This strikes me as a really weird kit for a newbie pretty much anywhere. So, I've got to ask: What's the deal? Are you a jockey-sized dude getting into kiting? Or are you enormous and planning on using this kite as some sort of trainer?

At any rate, conditions suitable for a 7.5m kite aren't really conducive to learning. I'm really curious as to what motivated these choices and what your plan is. I'm happy to help any way I can.

NOPE -- i Totally Agree !!

A group of Four, showed-up at Mohave one day & it was blowing 30+ ;
they asked me WHY there kite wouldn't fly , and if i would Tune it
for them.

My answer was NO !!!!!!!

When i asked if they had ever taken lessons, the Mom said there was
no wind that day ; the son said he wake-boards, & he had watched ME,
so how hard could it be ? ( if a legless white haired Guy can do it ) !!

Loaded GUN you say ? HA !! Loaded for EVERYONE Down-wind of them ; as
they were Completely Clue-Less.

IF a guy doesn't know which side the knot goes ; i sure am NOT going
to tell him cause he Probably NEVER took lessons !!!

Please. Take a lesson. Ask a friend to help. If you don't even understand how the knots on the kite work, you shouldn't be rigging it up anywhere other than your living room. Ask someone local for some help before you die.

The guy asked a simple question and got an answer, don't go all cyber stalker on him making wild assumptions
