Yeah its good stuff, the race yachts and power boats have been using the Marine glide on the hullls and sail - spinakers to decrease wet rigging weight n increase speed. Just need to re apply now n then etc. They mix theirs with water for large surface areas..
Apart from straps you can pull your board out the water dry :)

I seen this before. if my numbers are right at retail prices it will cost $300 to coat your kite and it will add about 8 kilos of weight. I think you want to try applying it at something like 1/20th recommended application level.

You are calculating coating both sides of the kite correct? Your numbers are pretty accurate for an 11M kite. Not sure how you came up with a 1/20th application level though. In order for the product to work I would imagine you should apply it as recommended. It's a spray on application from an aerosol can.

I would like to coat my kite lines with this.

as i´m turning cheap in anything kite-related - does anybody knows about any similar product, just not in a package saying “kite”, that would do the same thing but at about half the price?

I have applied Seal&Glide from nanoprom, a nanoparticule coating dedicated to sails and kite. happy with that on 3 foilkites now ; it add almost no weight (not measurable, less than 10 grammes on a 15m foilkite.

Flysurfer's Lotus fabric is somekind of nano coated. At least it behaves like nano coated.
