I own and run a BnB in Penghu, Taiwan.
The wind statistics is shown below
Summer is our high season when there is no wind and we have no free time.

Winter is our low season when we have very few guests and a lot of wind.

I have a kiter daughter in her twenties, anybody interested in becoming her boy friend?

I was working as a kitesurf instructor and had a lot of hours on the water. Only problem is, sometimes you would have the best conditions for yourself, not necessarily for the students, and you have to teach! -this sucks...

So now I'm aiming a career as a translator in order to be able to work online and off-site 8)

I am also in college.

Real estate is great, I am currently working towards getting licensed. I throw a big st patricks concert every year last year we made 23k in a night lol. Nightlife/club scene can be lucrative and leaves time in day but you deal with lots of druggies and sketchy people.

I also have buddies who own businesses and can kite whenever it is windy.

Or find a rich girl ;)

Spot on. You will likely have your profession the rest of your life. ( young people today can forget the concept of retirement. They will have to work till they drop). There is a false belief today that you can switch careers many times in life, yes there are exceptions, but . Dont see it happening even in Sweden where safety net is strong.
If you love kiting so much, make a career out of that.
At 50+ ive managed to have a successful career in design and follow my freetime passions that have changed over time: windsurfing, boat racing, running, tiathalon, MTB, road cycling, bike touring ( over 20 long tours), boat building, kayaking, kitesurfing, SUP, building and renovating houses.

The key is to manage your work hours. Dont work overtime, travel as little as possible. Get as much vacation as possible. ( I got lucky and moved to Sweden where we have 6 weeks) .

Follow you passion.

I am a builder among other jobs. Been my primary bread and butter for my career. I have done loads of other things because I am always interested in learning new skills, but having the trade behind me allowed me the freedom to pursue other ventures. I could always go back to building.
I have a high wind clause that all my clients know and understand. They always get the best job when things are running smoothly, which means time on the water. I would never leave a client without a roof on, or in the middle of a concrete pour, however, I have scope to go when I want.
Right now I am "on the other side" where my kids are almost grown, my wife's career has exploded, I can work my kite school in the summer and follow her around the globe in the winter where she runs workshops.
This was an early Friday knock off...one worth taking!
