Not sure what an RN is, but I recommend not choosing the type of job based on kiting. If you like what you do and you're good at it, chances are that you will be able to massage your job into opening up time for kiting.
Spot on. You will likely have your profession the rest of your life. ( young people today can forget the concept of retirement. They will have to work till they drop). There is a false belief today that you can switch careers many times in life, yes there are exceptions, but . Dont see it happening even in Sweden where safety net is strong.
If you love kiting so much, make a career out of that.
At 50+ ive managed to have a successful career in design and follow my freetime passions that have changed over time: windsurfing, boat racing, running, tiathalon, MTB, road cycling, bike touring ( over 20 long tours), boat building, kayaking, kitesurfing, SUP, building and renovating houses.
The key is to manage your work hours. Dont work overtime, travel as little as possible. Get as much vacation as possible. ( I got lucky and moved to Sweden where we have 6 weeks) .
Follow you passion.
