My lead leg foot came loose, but rear leg foot stayed in strap. Board twisted causing spiral fracture of the femur, then i fell over from the board stopping quickly while at speed and femur snapped completely.

I don't have to worry about the my Real parts breaking , but this is what
happens to me a LOT. It's when the board Stops where the prosthetic gets ripped
off my body. Even with the leash i use on the leg, the fake foot stays locked in
as i drag the board and leg parts behind me.

On those strong wind days, i have to set the kite on the side of the wind and fully
depower it to get the board back on.

SO :

A) Would it be Better to just have Both feet locked in All the time, like the guys that
ride with wake-board boots ?

B) or find a way to release the foot strap with a cord ?

C) maybe "step-in snow-board" bindings that release on impact ?

NO way will i go in ocean waves, until i figure this one out.
I Really miss surfing down waves ; did that for 20 years in San Diego,
when i owned real legs, and would enjoy trying it with a kite and surfboard !!

I know that feeling. Sometimes when I load and pop, my rear foot slips out of the strap while my front always stays in. 2 weeks ago, I was popping off some chop and my rear foot came out and I ended up doing a split and had a small groin pull as a result! I was thinking to point my toes down towards the board to get better grip, but I think you actually have to curl them up.

hey...

You can also peal back the pads under your toes and put a pencil there---give your toes a grab point..

One foot out and one foot in, has been responsible for many a broken or torn knee, ankle, leg...

etc.

Good luck

I did a raley once and my back foot came out and on landing the toeside rail of the board smacked me in the balls. Took me half an hour before i could get going again. since then i have my pads strapped down tight. Does tak a bit of wriggling to get my foot in but i know that when i pop my board should stay on. I spend most of my time in bindings now which completely solves that problem but opens up many more when you crash.

Have you tried to twist your feet to help lock your foot down???

Problem is I have a really hard time tightening my straps since they only tighten from one side... No I haven't tried yet, since the wind has been very light since last week, but I intend to.

I think yo need new straps. They are expensive for some good ones but it will really help.
Check these ones out they have huge amounts of adjustment.

The bottom line is that your feet are still going to come out no matter what, I mean all it is is a high tech piece of rubber over one side of your foot. No matter what you do, you'll slip out now and then unless all you do is ride back and forth

I switched to riding boots pretty much as soon as I could go upwind, and am happy to say the days of getting dents in my shins and tweaking my ankles are behind me...

This might have been said already. but a few years back when I bought a Nobile board, I'm sure I remember getting rubber straps for your heal as well as the normal binding.

I never used mine but the idea was simple put your foot in the binding and then pull the rubber strap up behind your heal. I'm sure your foot would still be able to come out but it would be fare less likely.

Regards

Paul

those heal strap thing are dangerous,if one foot comes off the strap you can't kick off the other. If you want to get locked in, boots are better.
