How about a Whale popping up 20 foot form me & my buddy,
while we were waiting for waves to surf at Blacks Beach !!

Dolphins in front & behind me while surfing blacks ; one of them
does an exit from the wave by doing a roll . That was at Blacks again.

Fricken Jelly-fish ; they Suck ! Lots of those in the patuxent river in Maryland

A cotton-mouth snake in Maryland, while hunting for soft-shell crabs ; i
Hate snakes !!!

I once fell in a bunch of SKATE while water-skiing near the Chesapeake :

My 8-year old English-setter, fell out of the boat ; he pulled me in the water
as i tried to pull him back in the boat ; I Loved that Dog !!!

Ever step on a Stingray ? i did, and they fricken HURT ; i Wish i had
prosthetic's when that happened, but it was a Real Bille foot that got nailed !

A moray eel tried to grab me once in the ocean near San Diego, i was trying to
catch a Lobster.
After that, i placed a Knife on each of my forearms ; was told to do that in the
first place.

I'm Hoping i NEVER see a Shark while i'm in the water ; you guys in Florida
are Bad-Ass for kiting with them !!!

This one deserves Honorable Mention :

A Fire Captain named Warren was kiting near 9-mile at Mohave ; he
ran over a 7-ft Rattle-Snake that was about 100yds off-shore.

He asked me for BEER , when he came back to shore and landed his kite !!

Just say the word and I will get to work finding the right match for you.
But we require that you sign a contract that says you will treat him/her with respect and provide the life a dog deserves.
In return, he/she will do anything you ask and be the best friend you have ever had. :thumb:
We have many available that could help even you, to be a better person.

I almost hit a big turtle in the Gulf in Corpus Christi on Sunday.
A couple years ago, I came face to face with a Cotton Mouth in a small man made lake, I was retrieving a twintip in the reeds near shore, was walking in chest deep water, luckily he and I went our own ways.
Lots of random fish jump out of the water in front of you in the Laguna Madre in Corpus.
Sea lice inside your wetsuit are not too much fun!!! ...ouch!!
Lots of Jellyfish, but never been stung.
Pelicans dive bombing for fish.

I once kited with dolphins where one of them rolled upside down and swam along with me literally 6 inches under my board looking up at me for about 100 metres. That was like a religious experience.

My list so far consists of sharks, turtles, sting ray, jelly fish (Man O War are beautiful but deadly), more variety of fish than I can name, lots of dolphin, massive manta rays, lots of sharks, more sharks, still more sharks, and the occasional manatee. It's a pretty amazing sport that lets you get so close to nature. A few weeks back I kited right through a feeding frenzy of juvenile bonnet head sharks chasing down a school of sting ray on some flats. Pretty amazing sight in about 3 feet of water. Probably only about 20 sharks in the water but it seemed like a thousand at the time.

A few years back I kited directly over a 12 foot bull shark who was sitting in about 5 feet of water and it scared the living shit out of me. It was a sobering reminder that big things with lots of teeth live in the water we kite on.

Can you remind me of where you kite so I can make sure to NEVER go there?
Ha ha...funny. Regardless of where you kite this marine life is everywhere. Sharks live in every ocean on the planet and 99% of them all breed and birth in shallow waters. So all the cool flats we like to kite are going to have at least a few species of shark that frequent that area. I just happen to live on a peninsula within a peninsula and all of my kite spots are shallow grassy bottoms which attract a lot of marine life which in turn attracts a lot of sharks.

Those look like frigate birds. I saw some in jamaica last week.

I've seen small turtles, dolphins, fish, jellies, and man of wars. had a sea lion pop up in front of me in california once. no sharks yet and I'm kind of disappointed in that.

Off Sunset in Cape Town I ran into a group of penguins which let me fairly close before diving. On the Gran Canaria I saw a flying fish for the first time. And in Shark Bay (za) I stepped on a lot of things that moved :o

Actual aquatic wildlife limits to jumping garfish around here :-) I did see a dead harbour porpoise once. Lots of seabirds though including many swans. You really don't wanna go through a flock of those.
