Looking at getting a surfboard for the lightwind days that are so common around here. I'm inland, so we have no waves, but the big lakes get choppy. Most chop comes with wind over 15 knots tho, so I'd be on my TT by then. This will be for 10-15 knots, 12m kite, just for having fun. I'm 200lbs.
Not looking to break the bank for a light wind surf board. Looking at a LF Joystick 6'0" or a Best Short Stick 5'6". Would love to try out something more like the North Nugget but not willing to pay retail for it and can't seem to round up anything similar used.
Any suggestions?

I started using surfer surfboard 6 foot long, after trying a dozen or so, I settled on a FireWire Alternator.

After going along the same sort of reasoning, I'm probably going to pull the trigger on a Slingshot Dialer.
My other reason was, if I go to the ocean spots, sometimes the waves are more fun to play in than boost off...

Airush Slayer. Not a surfboard but it is perfect for what you are describing?
You can find my thoughts on it here

Short version - very easy to use fun in light wind and I even gybed it twice on my first outing and I'm no strapless rider. They really can negate the use of bigger kites in normal condtions when it would be to marginal to have fun on a TT.
