If your not doing any pass tricks try to hook your leash either to the sides or front of the harness. Though easier to release when dragged there is a bigger chance for it to tangle with the bar...that is why I prefer a release on the harness side. Faster and less prone to miss release.
Good job though on the quick double release. .

I've been told boards often end up on the shore near the highway, be careful around the log booms there though.

Nice work. Kite equipment is never worth an injury.
Consider a North or Slingshot bar with metal parts.

It's like a personal flotation device, but dyslexic!

Metal parts are not an improvement.
The most reliable chicken loop release systems are not the ones with lots of metal parts.
When sand and salt and snow and mud and ice are a factor, the more basic chicken loop release like Ocean Rodeo, and Wainman tend to work with no chance of failure.

Ice, snow, salt, mud....made me shiver just reading it and remembering this past winter's sessions. That said another important point is to make sure you can pull both safeties and reassemble your loop with your gloves on. With 5mm gloves on stuff gets difficult real quick.
