Weighing up 2013 Obsession vs 2013 Swtichblade

Am a beginner rider looking to go intermediate. Got a couple of months last season under me and have been using a 10m 2010 switchblade.

Living in Cape Town makes a 10m often unusable with strong winds .

Was looking at a second hand switchblade 7m in mint condition for R8,000 but picked up a twice used demo RRD obsession 7m with new bar for the same price.I weigh 95kg and am looking to do some riding and entry jumping this season. And need a kite for those 25kts + days. I ride a 142cm board.

As a new participant haven't been too keen to spend on the latest and most expensive.

Have I made the right choice? Every kite shop I went to I heard a different shpiel. So should I just move on and be happy or high tail it back to the shop. a bit confused.

You will love the Obsession has an enormous range and an epic low end, no pun intended. My wife learned on a 7 Obsession and never changed kites. Might surprise how low wind you can use the 7.

thanks mate. getting excited . now where is that wind!!
read on some forums that it has a habit of stalling. and some seem to prefer the ozone catalyst.

any comments on this.

Depends on the year you got. The last two year's Obsessions don't tend to backstall (they can...but its not super prevalent). I love my 7m obsession - boosts huge and is fast, but not too fast
