you can also use a stainless steel nut of the right size

They are easy enough to find in the UK.

Thanks, I found all the uk stores.. I am happy to deal with them. Funny thing I didn't get one North American hit, in fact the last hit on the 2nd page was back to this thread! Amazing really if you think of it.
