I made my onw strut mount using the "show case mount" that comes with the camera. I put a strap with velcro on the mount. As precaution, I have a small leash with a hook that I can clip on the pump leash of the kite , but I don't use it sometimes because I don't see any way the camera could fall since the mount holds very hard.

anyway you can make a little leash with a piece of line and tie it to the knob of the camera just for your peace of mind.

For sure put a leash on it! If you tomahawk the kite the cam will pop off the head strap .. Its better to relaunch and find the cam dangling than missing, trust me.

I made my gopro mount for my Cabrinha main centre strut from two 2" Velcro ski straps. I purchased two Toko velcro ski straps and joined these to make a wider circumference. I then attached a standard gopro mount by brass riveting the adhesive mount to the strap and also them anger Velcro Sally safety strap around the mount. I can then easily attach the gopro.
It is important to position the gopro camera so it records in landscape not portrait or your videos will come out in portrait. It is also important that you position 3" down from bladder, too far down the strut and the weight effects kite flight. Also about 1" off centre so you don't keep taking video with your wing tip included. I will take a photo and include later.
