Kite Haiku

Postby cowboykites » Sat Aug 17, 2013 3:58 am

I am officially new to this forum but have used kite forum for some time as a favorite. I have been kitesurfing about 8 years now all over the US, but now primarily in the Galveston Texas area. I am a dude currently trying to lighten my kite and board stash in order to have more stoke with less stuff. This is my current kiting and life goal. Kite equipment is so cool, it's hard not to get attached to it, but I am recycling it and making new friends when I talk to the people that buy it.

I like the kiteforum because it is a great reference for questions I have and shows how broad this sport is for questions I should have.

I am a freelance instructor in the Galveston area, but am currently trying to ride and learn more than I teach.

I am also trying to get my unhooked tricks to look cooler. Right now, some of them look like I am pooping (not popping) in the air while holding a kite bar, but I'll get the horizontal trajectory and layout back dammit.

There was no wind today and I had a kite mirage. I could swear I heard a gust of wind but it turned out to be some loud bugs, so I wrote this stupid haiku.

wind gust hover swish
false alarmed I turn my ear
busy cicadas shed

Anyway, thanks to kite forum for the wealth of knowledge you have provided to me currently and in the past with your forums.

Growing up in Texas, we just called them locust. I didn't know they were called cicadas until I moved to Tennessee.

Welcome to the forum. Looking forward to hearing your insight on the topics. Since you have been watching the forum for a while, I am sure you realize some people are kind of high strung on here. Don't take things too personal, and keep up the haikus. :bye:
