i rubbed my feces all over my board to keep the shark away.

I didnt get attacked.

therefore shitting all over my board will keep the sharks away

Lol well good for you though is that considering that there are 8 mil. visitors in addition to general population that pretty much all go in the water all year round the probability of getting munched is slim to none...

Secondly there is no increase in attacks at all...it just varies from year to year...
From 1828 to August 2013 there have been 121 total unprovoked shark attacks in Hawaii. Eight of these were fatal attacks - the last being in 2004.

Far more people die each year of drowning than are injured as a result of a shark attack. An average of 60 people die each year by drowning in the waters of Hawaii.

I'm pretty sure that device mentioned above is sold only to tourists. It is guaranteed to attract all sharks within a 3 mile radius and therefore all of the locals can surf without worrying about sharks.
