A friend of mine bought a pair of protection socks for kitesurfing from the Swiss Barefoot Company.http://www.barefootcompany.ch/en/
This is his story:
The order was put in June 26. The socks arrived on July the 17th (3 weeks later.) On the day they arrived, my friend tried the socks on and found out that they were too small. So he sent an email that day requesting an exchange. Pretty straight forward so far.
Another email to the seller 2 days later: no response again.
Another email a week later: no response again
Call to the telephone on the website: left a voice message. No reply again.
Another telephone call to the cell phone listed for the website address. Another voice message left.
Finally my friend lodged a complaint with Paypal.
This was the exact response from the seller:Dear Mr. xxx,
You have ordered the size 40/41 and you obviously did not take care of a proper size
selection. So you simply ordered wrong, which was your fault.
For medical reasons, we are not allowed to exchange used footwear, by law. This
is about the danger of an infection. (Tinea pedis, athlete's foot) Usually exchange is no problem
in this business, however, with such products there is no legal way to exchange used products.
It is not true, (!) that the article did not correspond to its description, you received exactly what
you ordered. You cannot assign the blame of choosing a completely wrong size on us.
Please withdraw your wrong allegation on Paypal, which we consider a false assertion,
because we actually did ship the ordered product !

Eventually Paypal ruled in favor of the seller so my friend is out 64 EUR.
On the faq page there is no warning that returns are not accepted:http://www.barefootcompany.ch/en/FAQ.html
So if you are ever interested in a protective sock for kiting, BE WARNED STAY AWAY FROM Swiss Barefoot company or you could easily end up 64 EUR out of pocket !! Customer service is non existent too!
PS I think my friend has logged a complain with the European Commission. Crazy guy.
