I've got new generation kites! Too much depower and for me the old Rhino was better for floaty jumps.

Still looking out for a 2011 18m Dyno. :thumb:

New style kites killed my airstyle hence the last picture being taken back around 2006.

Adam good to see you starting to get out again (me too) for your tennis elbow issues, buy a "flexbar" from amazon https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=flexb ... ent=safari and then do the "Tyler twist" exercise . Search on YouTube for video.

Start with a red bar and move to blue.

This IS the way to go, tendon issues are about lack of power in the muscles attaching into the tendon. Strong muscles offload and shock absorb for the tendon. Get it sorted and have it!

Seth
No, your not getting it. Look at the photo and figure out the direction of force ie the geometry. Trying to pull down the front of the bar with my back hand is understandably stressing the tendons as it is not a natural movement.

Don't have tendinitis at the moment. Got rid years back, but it will no doubt come back unless I do board offs properly.

?

I think the point is, that you should not "cross" your backhand in an odd movement to the forward side of the bar - as when using the microloop, you simply push with your backhand to get the kite redirected forward :thumb:

This is even less straining than pulling with your front hand, especially if you put the hand a bit further out on the bar :naughty:

But most of all, and what I am pretty sure is Tobys point - you suddenly get extreme freedom for doing different tricks, as you can choose which hand you want to use.

My bad Peter,

Easier said than done. Can you do this?

Simple answer is practice. But difficult mixing in variables such as work, relationship, childcare, house chores etc. Oh, and wind direction/speed and my location ie Grimsby. Being east coast the nearest westerly spot is 94miles away in Hunstanton.

Pray for wind.

I went to Dunkerque (France) for the Airstyle competition, and there where quiet some young riders doing nice stuff. Specially the Flysurfer team is pushing it...they got good kites for it ;-)

Anyone else...how is the progress?

Adam, your just going to have to trust that I know what I am on about on this subject. Humour me, do the exercise and see if your problem goes. No worries otherwise.

Hi, i am kiting for a long time now, but started to push my airstyl progress since this year. (Getting older so have to hurry up). I have been dreaming of doing this styl for long time now. But hardly progressed. So this year i started to push it harder. Got bigger kites in stronger winds. First 14 then 18. And indeed Toby, it helped me progress. I learned 720 one foot slide, couple of board off's (tailspin, side stredge, board down feet up). And if i feel confident 720 back board off. It is all without style yet. Just happy to land them. And i am coming. :D
Some days i go on the water and i can not get the hangtime. How do you do it Toby? I am working on the low kiteloop now. To get the hangtime in lower winds. And to do slides/walks. But i am afraid of looping the 18 when wind is getting harder. Mental block here for now.
But all in all, i am very happy with this years progress. All the tips from this forum and the dvd were a big help.
