Yes, a seat windsurf harness is fine

Yes, you can ride without a leash, but basically this should only be done at spots with noone else out or on the beach - which I dont think exist

But I guess you ask, because there is no "rings" to attach the leash to, on a windsurf harness, right ?

Does not matter - you can just make a leash connection point on the spreader bar - many does this anyway

So yes, just use the windsurf harness !

And no, dont ride without the leash - connect it to the spreader bar if no special attatchment points on the harness !

Maybe it's just me but 2 windsurfing harnesses I tried broke down within a few weeks from the higher stress of kitesurfing. So be aware, your harness may not have enough reinforcements...
