Flyboards News:
Coming soon - FlySplit
Innovation has always been one of Flysurfer’s highest aspirations when it comes to product development. This self-set aim motivates the development team surrounding Andi Hanrieder every day to create new ideas. One of these truly innovative products is the new boardline, FlySplit. The all new FlySplit combines the opportunity to disemble the board in the middle with the performance of a normal kiteboard. This is the crucial feature that wins extra space when travelling, whilst maintaining that the kiteboard performs just as well as a Radical or Flydoor.

The FlySplits are great allrounders, which should not be left out on any travel, whether with plane, sportscar or motorcycle. Due to the fantastic opportunity of splitting the boards in half, the FlySplits are a proper alternative to normal boards on the kitesurfing market. Thanks to a three year development phase, we can guarantee that the FlySplits perform like excellent kiteboards, but are still seperable. Thus there is no compromise on quality and performance.
Available from the middle of October!

Not at all. You can still buy a normal board if you don't travel a lot. If you do, you will realise the value. Due to extra processing and labour, more precise manufacturing in the split area, additional parts and materials and lower production quantities, the price is quite reasonable compared to normal boards!
I like the new graphics/colour scheme

sweet! worst thing about this board is you will never ever get one used, who would ever sell their travel board. Need to save up my pennies for this one.

2 Nobile split board ranges (one TT in 3 sizes + 1 directionnal - The Infinity) should be released next month either but no communication has started yet.
Both boards were presented mid July to the public tent to tent during St Peter Ordling meeting in Germany.
With one news per week since mid august (Facebook, web site, Rhyme contest...) Flysurfer has led quite a relentless Buzz campaign...
Nobile .... nothing for the past 8 weeks
The system is quite clever either but the 1/4 turn Allen key is internal to the board ... I am just curious to know how much extra weight does the ABS frame surrounding both halves adds to the mounted board... as ABS density is very superior tthan that of (wood core + resin + carbon fiber)

I build one 3 years ago from plywood for $65,- (the stainless steel screws cost $$)
No problems at airport as it travels in a normal luggage with 2 kites (10m and 7m) + 1 bar + 1 pump + harness + wetsuit < 23kgs

In Italy there is a custom manufacturer, CKT boards, who sells split boards for less thant 500 euros. I bought a used one, it's not very light (I think more than 3 kilos with straps and fins, 134x41) and you have to work about 10 minutes to rebuild it before use but I traveled a lot with it and it always worked fine. If you need a contact, I think I can find it. I frankly don't know if the guy speaks english and if he can deliver outside Europe.
