Hi everyone,
Im planning to go to Hawaii for 3 weeks (2 weeks of October and 1 week of November) for kitesurfing.
Can anyone advise me which Hawaii island could be the best for kitesurfing during that period of time ? I heard of Maui/Kahului that there are very good conditions (?)

Maui has stronger wind than Oahu, but you should try both islands.

Hi,
thanks a lot for replies.
I will go to Maui and probably stay in Kihei (south part of island).
I can see 2 kite spots there:
- Waipuilani Park
- Mai Poina Oe La u / Ohukai Beach
Does anyone know about wind statistics/chances in that place between end of October and beginning of November ?

Hi everyone,
so, almost everything is ready to go. Im gonna stay at Kihei (south of island).
Now there is a question what set of kites should I take with me at that time of the year (21st OCT - 06th NOV) ? Should I take: 7-9m OR 9-13m.
It is of course matter of baggage weight, otherwise I would take all of them

I'd take the 7 and 9. There might be some days where you wish you had your 13, but chances are you'll use your 7 much more.
Kiting in Kihei can be awesome, but it can be sketchy, and it's much less consistent than the north shore.

Hi,
in the end I decided to go with set 9-13m and that was good choice.
Wind was not super strong. Enough for 9 and sometimes for 13.
Cheers

it will only cost $200 (ca) to go to or from maui/Oahu
so plan in some extra cash to check out both islands.
worth it
board rentals are easy to come by on each island. Airline board fees are retarded
(well, Oahu used to be easier but there are boards, kites ..I'm not sure)
