Hi, everyone!
I'm getting ready for my first surfboard for winter season in Vietnam. I want to take this one:
http://www.slingshotsports.com/kite/pro ... -sku-14218
I plan it to use for riding small-to-medium sized waves, air tricks.
I need advice on board size.
71—74 kg weight, 183cm height. Now I ride Tona Pop 138 — feels right. Before I had North Team Series 131cm, was too small and hard landings for knees.

The 5'4 if you want to use a surfboard only occasionnaly... and in the lower wave/wind range
The 5'2 if you're a "quick learner" or if you want to use a surfboard in any weather condition (and throwing the TT away at one point
)
Hope this help

for my 80 kg it would be the 5.4. the 5.2 for me is definitely too small. great for jumping but much too small for light winds and mushy waves.

The 5'2 and 5'4 are supposed to have the same volume (26L).... so not "definitely too small"

I was thinking about the volume = to 26L for the 5'2" and 5'4" because as per slingshot web page the width of the 5'2" is 17 3/4" and the 5'4" is 18 3/16" and both are 2 7/16" of thickness. So looks that they make the 5'2" with more volume distribution on the nose and/or the tail to compensate the less width.
Anyone had the opportunity to see both boards sizes at the same time
to compare them and let me know your comments.

5'2" feels just right for my weight. Didn't have chance to compare with 5'4".
But for riding choppy waves or riding fast you need another board. This one starts to "dance". I think its because of rocker, not a big specialist in surf boards... But jumps super good, even from flat water. Put pad on whole board to feel super grip.
